Mini-Parks

Gold Beach Main Street has partnered with the Gold Beach Urban Renewal Agency to place benches throughout main street. These benches, trees and flower beds ensure that locals and tourists can rest and relax as they venture down Ellensburg Avenue.  This project has increased accessibility and walkability for all members of our community. The streetscape has been improved through a cohesive plan for plantings and placement of our artistic benches. Check out the gallery of our mini-parks in bloom.

Infrastructure Projects

Undergrounding Utilities

Gold Beach Main Street commissioned Consor Engineering to undertake a utility undergrounding feasibility study. Click the photo to imagine what our town could look like without all those poles and wires.

Traffic Calming

Most people will agree that for pedestrians, crossing Ellensburg Avenue can be a challenge. Bicycling through town is also a risky proposition. What are the possible solutions to make our community safer and healthier? Click the photo to find out more.

Revitalization Grants

Gold Beach Main Street was proud to support Barnacle Bistro in securing an Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant, a competitive statewide program that awards funding of up to $400,000 for building acquisition, renovation, and revitalization projects. This investment will help strengthen the business and contribute to the long-term vitality of downtown Gold Beach.

Barnacle Bistro joins three other Gold Beach businesses that have previously received Revitalization Grants through the Oregon Main Street program. These projects represent meaningful reinvestment in our downtown core and reflect the impact that coordinated planning, strong partnerships, and local initiative can have on small-town economic vitality.

GBMS is proud to have played a supporting role in this effort and to highlight the positive momentum created by past and current revitalization projects in our community.

Community Events

Halloween Town

Don’t be afraid when the town begins to crawl with tiny (but cute) little spooks, witches and monsters. A map shows where to find sweet treasures, and a pumpkin marks each spot.

Small Town Christmas

When the Spirit of Christmas visits this small town, everyone shows up—so please join us for our “Light up the Town”, Santa Drive-thru, and our children’s art competition.

Legends Fest

A music festival that embodies community spirit, fun, and tall tales, along with axe throwing, dunk tank, beer garden, merchants, artisans, and food trucks.

Annual Mini-Park Clean-up

Our mini-parks don’t maintain themselves! Fortunately, the community rolls up their sleeves and helps out with our annual cleanup and special projects throughout the year.

Other Projects in the Works!

  • Gold Beach Main Street serves as the fiscal sponsor for a local group that meets weekly to pick up trash and help with our mini-park maintenance. If you like their work, you can donate through Gold Beach Main Street with your tax deductible gift. They can always use funds for trash bags, safety equipment, dump fees and fuel for their vehicles. They also love to get together for coffee afterwards (hint). They currently meet on Thursdays at 10 am at the Mary D. Hume shipwreck in the Port. They are a fun group who have really changed the appearance of Gold Beach and surrounding areas. Click here to donate.

  • Curry County is a daycare desert, with 2,000 kids who can't get daycare due to lack of availability. We are working hard to connect public and private entities who want to help fill this void. Interested in helping? Contact us.

  • At a recent City Council meeting (May 2024), the mayor gave out awards to students who participated in the "If I was Mayor for a Day" contest. Consistent themes were for a community center for youth, pickleball courts, dog park, and updated tennis courts and kids playground. This process will start with community visioning sessions that will culminate in a multi-year plan for fundraising & execution. Interested in helping define priorities? Contact us and volunteer.

  • We want to start program that provides loans to businesses for painting building exteriors. Let's get this town spruced up!
