Hello, Gold Beach Main Street Supporter

As the year comes to a close, we’re excited to share what’s been happening on Main Street—from the magic of Small Town Christmas to local businesses growing into new spaces along Ellensburg Avenue. In this issue, you’ll find community highlights, important dates to mark on your calendar, and ways to stay involved as we look ahead to the new year together.

10th Annual Small Town Christmas

Our 10th Annual Small Town Christmas is in full swing, and the holiday spirit is shining brighter than ever! The Kids’ Art Contest is officially complete, with nearly double the number of entries this year — a huge thank-you to all the talented young artists who participated. Our beloved Santa Drive-Thru was another success on December 20, and we’re loving seeing local businesses light up downtown with festive cheer. Community voting for the art contest took place December 15–21, with winners announced soon! Stay tuned on Facebook and Instagram and celebrate the winners with us!

What’s Ahead

Reimagine Ellensburg: Community Town Hall – January 13

Gold Beach Main Street invites the community to join us for a Community Town Hall on January 13 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the Curry Public Library. This gathering is part of our Reimagine Ellensburg initiative and is designed to help residents learn more about what’s ahead for Ellensburg Avenue—and how to participate in shaping its future. This meeting is open to the entire Gold Beach Community, not just residents within city limits.

The evening will provide an overview of upcoming transportation and streetscape considerations, share background on ODOT’s U.S. 101 Community Connections planning process, and outline opportunities for public input through surveys, open houses, and hearings. Most importantly, this Town Hall creates space for community conversation around shared values like safety, walkability, accessibility, beautification, and economic vitality.

We’ll have small bites and a no-host Arch Rock bar, so we encourage everyone who lives, works, or cares about Gold Beach to attend. This is an opportunity to get informed, ask questions, and make sure your voice is part of the process.

Improving Ellensburg

Fiddlehead Fern Spa & Apothecary

We’re excited to celebrate Fiddlehead Fern Spa & Apothecary, now welcoming clients in their beautiful NEW storefront at 29441 Ellensburg Ave, Suite 1, in the same shopping area as Double D’s. What began as a small, heart-led wellness offering has steadily grown into a full-service holistic health spa and herbal apothecary serving our community with care.

Fiddlehead Fern offers massage, waxing, and esthetics, Himalayan salt spa and infrared sauna sessions, herbal consultations and classes, a bulk herbal apothecary, and a wellness bar featuring herbal teas, kava, and electrolytes. They’re now open Wednesday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with walk-in shopping available and appointments offered as space allows.

Beyond their services, Fiddlehead Fern continues to show up for the community through thoughtful givebacks, like their ongoing Pay It Forward giveaway, encouraging neighbors to nominate a deserving community member. As they expand their offerings, welcome new team members, and apply for grants to better serve clients, their commitment to community wellbeing remains a high priority.

We’re thrilled to see Fiddlehead Fern thrive in their new Main Street-adjacent location and wish Cass and the entire team continued growth and success. If you haven’t stopped in yet, now’s a wonderful time to experience what they’ve been building!

River’s End Collective

Another exciting Main Street move to celebrate! River’s End Collective has expanded into a larger storefront in the former Woof’s Dog Bakery space just off Ellensburg Avenue, giving this eclectic boutique room to grow and shine.

Owned and operated by Fern Voshall, a lifelong Gold Beach resident and dedicated community member, River’s End Collective has become a true destination where fashion meets artistry. The shop features clothing for women, men & children, gifts, and a wide selection of goods from Oregon-based artisans, thoughtfully curated to reflect creativity, quality, and local pride.

In just over a year of ownership, Fern has transformed River’s End Collective into a vibrant retail space. Beyond the storefront, she’s taken the business on the road with a traveling horse trailer boutique for events, festivals, and gatherings. Her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to supporting local makers exemplifies what it means to invest in Main Street. Supporting River’s End Collective means supporting women-led business, creative growth, and the energy that keeps our town thriving.
