Gold Beach Main Street invites you to join us for an important Community Town Hall Meeting focused on the future of Ellensburg Avenue and downtown Gold Beach. This is a chance to come together, learn what’s being discussed, and share your voice as conversations move forward.

When community members show up, meaningful change becomes possible. Your ideas, perspectives, and questions help shape a Main Street/Ellensburg Avenue/U.S. Hwy 101 that reflects the needs and values of the people who live, work, and gather here. All members of the community are welcome.

Preparing Ahead: Get Informed & Share Your Input

Community members are encouraged to begin by participating in ODOT’s Online Open House, open January 7–23. This virtual open house will introduce three transportation concepts for the U.S. 101 corridor through Gold Beach (Ellensburg Avenue/Main Street), developed by Kittelson & Associates, a transportation engineering and planning consulting firm, and includes an opportunity to share feedback through an online survey.

Participating in the online open house allows you to explore the proposed lane configuration concepts at your own pace, learn about current corridor conditions, and understand the range of options being considered. While some alternatives may appear similar on the surface, each includes different design implications related to sidewalks, access, property impacts, and long-term functionality.

It is also important to note that the proposed concepts vary by segment of Ellensburg Avenue — there is not one single configuration applied throughout the corridor. Each option represents a balance of safety, accessibility, cost, and community benefit, with both advantages and limitations.

Reviewing the information ahead of time helps you arrive at the Town Hall with background knowledge, thoughtful questions, and a clearer understanding of the tradeoffs involved.

The online open house sets the foundation for continued community discussion, including deeper conversation and local context at the Community Town Hall on January 13. Whether you participate online, in person, or both, your input helps ensure community perspectives remain part of the planning process.
